All Systems Go!...

Well, it was time for another few hours (12:30 til 18:00!) out on the garden railway today! We were still finishing the final preparations for the Bonfire Night run on Thursday. The railway is now fully working and, for bonfire night, the three main stations will be illuminated, as will the locomotive sheds and the Sutherland Signalbox. This makes 5 lit buildings out of the 15 that will eventually be lit. The idea behind illuminating them on Thursday is to give a bit of a "preview" before the Christmas event in December. For the bonfire, all of the wood is now ready, as are the parraffin rags with which to light it. Our BR Tail-lamp is also full of parrafin and our small garden lanterns also have candles in...all ready! The turntable is waiting in the stores and so is the "spotlight" with which to light it (seen in a previous blog...Friday's I believe). All of the railway's electrics have been prepared and checked, before being successfully tested. So, everything is ready! The catering department is also well on the case of the evenings refreshments! (Thats not my field!). Locomotive wise, our Bachmann 56XX 0-6-2 Tank No6600 will the main loco, hauling a 6-coach rake, tailed by our illuminated Devon Belle Observation Car. (There will also be many loco's on display at the turntable and in the sheds & shed yard). We're anticipating a good evening so lets hope it goes well! Thanks for reading folks! Evening All...
