Tyseley: The Swindon Beauty...

Hi all. A short post from today. I was at Tyseley from 10am until 6pm helping the volunteer working party on and around No7029 "Clun Castle". The 1950-built 4-6-0 is now in the final stages of her massive overhaul to main line standards and is, well, just beautiful. No pictures of course but if you want to see another 84E marvel return to steam then why not attend the open day on October 29th. "Clun" will be officially commissioned that day alongside sister ship "Earl of Mount Edgcumbe". This will be a unique pairing of preservations only double chimney Castle Class locomotives in steam - don't miss it. For now, all I can say is that No7029 looks amazing and all credit to Tyseley for their supreme efforts. Another good day in good company amongst fine machines. Cheers all, Sam...
