Achilles Report No57: Outshopped...

Hi guys. So, having finished most jobs off yesterday, here is the outshopped locomotive. I am very pleased with the result and I hope that she will run just as good as she looks. The loco will be attending the CMES members evening steam up on June 18th; all being well and weather permitting. With the sun shining today I thought it would be nice to take some photographs of the engine out in the garden. Very pleased with her...
The cab with fittings polished and ready for action...
The engine's new little brass plate which is fitted in the cab...
A final look...
There is still the matter of the dummy whistle for the front of the cab, which still needs to go on, and also the cab roof may well find itself having a respray again as I'm not quite 100% with it but for now, this is how she'll run. In my biased opinion, she looks great. Best Regards, Sam...

Achilles looks grand Sam, I'm sure she'll steam as well as she looks.
Can't wait to see the engine in steam again very soon.
Kind regards,
Emma-claire.

Thank you Emma, we will be there a week tomorrow all being well. Look forward to a few steamings with her later in the season. :)

She really does look great - nearly a shame to steam before entering her in a show. Still I am sure you will have her well polished for display at the Midland show.

Thank you Peter she is nice condition now I am pleased to say. In a few weeks she will be joined by a sister, another steam engine no less, and we are now working behind the scenes to make the new baby as shiney as Achilles! All to come :)

Superb job! Well done. I hope to have the time and gumption to some day do likewise to my sweet pea!!
Keep up the enjoyable posting.

Thank you Phil. Sweet Pea ay? Only the best!

It's a fun sweet pea - it's pretty much the 5" version, but the frames and axles stretched to 7.25". Amazingly powerful machine, but stretches my [cough] 'skills' in boiler management to the limit! It will need the Achilles treatment in a couple of years!
