Devon Holiday Post III: PDSR Linesiding...

There are alot of beautifully located preserved railway's in the UK but the PDSR has to be one of the best, if not the best, for coastal scenary, rolling hill's, changing gradients and holiday traffic! Throughout my holiday, of which this is Post III of VI, I spent my free time watching (& filming) PDSR trains. Unlike some railway's, the PDSR has many local footpath's clinging to it's lineside on many different sections of its journey. My personal favourite section is the Goodrington to Broadsands part which includes the best view's of the sea and the small coves & beaches which line the waters edge. Therefore, the above image, and the video below, were captured from 'legal'(!) locations along the track side. 7827 "Lydham Manor" is seen above, descending Waterside past Sugarloaf Hill (where the image is taken from). The calm, blue sea can be seen in the background as can the headland which curves to the left towards Brixham & beyond. The video below was shot on various dates and features 4277 "Hercules" (1 shot) & 7827 "Lydham Manor" (4 shots). I hope you enjoy the video. (Simply click "Play" to view).

Thanks for reading folks. Post No4 will be online soon! Good Evening.

It seem to be so interesting to visit that railway. It would be smart to have a guide for all types of Devon accommodation and tourist information so that you won't miss beautiful places like that. It's good that Devon holiday guides are now online for inquiries.

Funnily enough I took this railroad with my girlfriend earlier in the year when we went on our annual holiday to devon. Did you see the steam run trains too? I found those probably one of the more momentous occasions of my visit, hope you had a good time!
